Trident

One of our other mapping targets was Hrádek nad Nisou and Trojzemí, the place where the borders of three countries - Bohemia, Germany and Poland - meet.

Our first stop was the Nostalgie restaurant, which we were recommended. Access to the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, the interior is stylish, the staff is helpful, but unfortunately you won't find a wheelchair accessible toilet here. Still, we sat down, had a nice refreshment and headed to the centre of Hrádek.

There are two reserved parking spaces on the square and also an information centre called the Gate of the Three Lands, which we visited. Here you will find not only the information centre itself, but also a museum exhibition, a cinema, a library, and an accessible toilet. In the toilet, however, beware of the handrails, which, although they have supports on the floor, are most likely anchored into the plasterboard and do not feel solid at all.

But let's get on with our main program and that is a trip around the Tri-Country. We are moving back to the Nostalgie restaurant, where our proven escort Honza is waiting for us.

We set off and immediately cross the state border for the first time. We pass through the German town of Hartau and join a beautiful straight avenue road that takes us to the edge of Zittau, where we cross the state border again, this time with Poland.

The next kilometre or so runs along the main road, but there are three petrol stations for refreshments or toilets and one grocery store.

But we are already turning onto a path through the trees that will lead us directly to the meeting point of the three states. Here you will find monuments, a cross and the flags of the countries concerned, including the EU flag. In wet weather, beware of a small section with a longitudinal and transverse slope. Our colleague Tomas was here a week after us in an electric wheelchair and the path was quite slippery, also due to the ubiquitous slugs.

A short rest and we continue along the Czech trail to Lake Kristýna. On the way you can turn off along a wooden path into the local wetlands, but we didn't get far because of nesting birds.

Lake Kristýna will surprise you not only with its size and beautiful surroundings, but also with its amenities. There is a large campsite, which according to the information at the reception should offer two barrier-free cabins with their own sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, however, it is already late afternoon and the ladies at the reception are finishing their shift, so we have to postpone the personal tour for another time.

We enjoy a pleasant path around the lake, which is lined with various exercise and fitness elements. A pleasant surprise awaits us at the Panelka Bistro, where we find a wheelchair accessible toilet on the Eurokey.

Filled with the experiences of a beautiful day, we conclude today's tour and return to the Nostalgie restaurant, where our journey through the Trident began. Don't be afraid to take this beautiful trip, it is worth it!
