Workshop Networks without Barriers

When: 27 November 2023, 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Designed for the professional and general public. We will present the latest news from the activities of Disway z. s., and especially practical experience from the mapping of accessibility in the Czech Republic and Germany, in 2022 - 2023.
Accessibility in tourism is beneficial not only for the disabled but for the whole society. Nature, historical and cultural monuments that are more accessible for the disabled are also interesting for the elderly and families with prams. More accessible tourism services are more pleasant and therefore more attractive to customers. Accessibility thus becomes a competitive advantage.

Final workshop for project no.: 100533122 "HANDICAP TRAVEL / REISEN VON MENSCHEN MIT HANDICAP"
You can look forward to the presentation of the newly developed "disway trails" app and the new comfortable hiking trails in the Tri-Country. The results document the current state of accessibility at selected tourist attractions on the proposed trails in the Czech-German border region.

We believe that the disabled and the physically handicapped can experience pleasant moments of relaxation and knowledge in nature, or in nature parks. That is why we would like to present projects that try to make natural beauties accessible to the disabled.

Travelling brings with it many impressions and experiences. Current studies show that people with disabilities have the same holiday interests as guests without disabilities. They do not just want to laze around or relax, but also to enjoy tourism and culture. Accessible offerings are just as attractive to elderly or physically challenged guests as they are to families with children.
How can guests reach their chosen holiday destinations without barriers? What plays an important role in the choice of means of transport? We would like to discuss these questions with you to find out suggestions for barrier-free itineraries.
