Plans of our Disway association in 2023

We will not be idle this year either. We want to continue our activities and plans to make disabled travel more and more barrier-free.

Cooperation with organisations from Denmark and Hungary is very much appreciated

An important moment for us in 2023 is the establishment of cooperation with other partners at European level. In 2020 - 2022, the Czech-German project Travels of the Handicapped (Reisen von Menschen mit Handicap) took place. This year we will newly cooperate with colleagues from Denmark and Hungary within the Erasmus project.

Together we would like to further develop the topic of accessibility in tourism. Not only to get to know each other and to be inspired by the conditions for disabled travellers in different countries, but also to highlight the problems during travel that need to be addressed. We are therefore planning to map several places of interest and organise a workshop in each country involved in the project.

We are very pleased with the partnership and support of Czech Tourism

Czech Tourism is not indifferent to the topic of travel for the disabled. At a recent meeting, its representatives were impressed by our concept of a Network without Barriers, where we want to connect various institutions and entities. We all live in our own bubble and cannot imagine well enough what someone with different specific needs has to deal with. In this way, we want to contribute to understanding between different organisations that would not otherwise meet.

The Prague Wheelchair Association gave us a helping hand at the very beginning of the mapping

This is because we have based our mapping methodology on the methodology that this organisation has been using for a long time. We needed to find the right structure and the most important parameters for us. Ms Novotná and her colleagues shared with us their extensive experience in this area. With this we would like to thank her very much for the cooperation so far and we look forward to further cooperation in the future.

We wish the German brand DM drogerie all the best for its 50th anniversary

On this occasion, DM drogerie wants to support two worthwhile projects as part of the celebrations. We are glad that they are interested in Disway activities and our Disway Trails and that we can participate. The winners will be voted for by DM drogerie customers themselves in the regional branches. In May, an "action day" should take place in Zittau, when the participants will present their project.
