Krásnolipsko has a lot to offer also to tourists with disabilities

Those who have never been to Krásná Lípa and its surroundings should quickly make amends. We have this area pretty well mapped out. Just download our Disway Trails app https://trails.disway.org/cs.

It was a hot summer day, but that didn't stop us in the Disway association to try more than 8 km long route through Krásnolipsko. It was marked out by the famous Czech Tourist Club. Did you know that their way of marking has attracted even tourist clubs in Brazil?

For us it was nice (and important) to see the wheelchair symbol on the tourist sign. We started from Křinický náměstí in front of the House of Bohemian Switzerland, where we recently had a workshop on the topic of accessibility of natural beauties and national parks.

But back to the wheelchair route through Krásnolipsko.

Due to the elevation, it is better to start the circuit clockwise from the left. The route alternates between road and pavement at the beginning. Be careful, in some places the pavement has a slightly steeper cross slope. At one point we crossed the road and the surface changed from tarmac to a paved but occasionally gravel path in the next section.

It was quite easy to drive on it, but it was more difficult with a mechanical cart. Then it is actually a dirt road and a part of it goes through the forest. We drove through ruts that were sometimes deeper. There can be puddles after rain.

On the way we passed a beautiful column of the Holy Trinity in the forest near Rybniště. Unfortunately, a few days after our visit, a vandal destroyed this sacral monument. Hopefully, this monument will soon be restored to its original state.

The Czech Tourist Club has marked the whole wheelchair route well, so don't worry, you won't get lost. If you use an electric wheelchair or an additional drive, you will find the route more relaxing.

The circuit closes on the way back to Krásná Lípa. Cross the tracks and go to Křinická Square in front of the House of Bohemian Switzerland. The management of the town of Krásná Lípa was kind enough to allow us to map the local cultural house and cinema. We presented our project to the vice-mayor of Krásná Lípa, Jana Drobečková, and Mr. Václav Heike from the Czech Tourist Club.

Krásná Lípa and its surroundings are worth exploring. Many more places and trails can be found in our Disway Trails app. More information about Disway, z. s. https://www.disway.cz/
