European Mobility Week conference and we were there!

European Mobility Week conference and we were there!
On Friday 22 September, the final conference of the European Mobility Week took place in the main hall of the Regional Office of the Ústí nad Labem Region. We gladly accepted Mr. Slavik's invitation to this conference and we consider our participation as a pleasant duty.
Both the NRZP and the Ústí nad Labem Region have long been important partners in our past and planned projects.
The main mission and long term goal of our Disway Association is to make the environment we live in, or are just discovering during our trip, as accessible as possible to everyone - even people with disabilities. We are committed to making sure that the topic of accessibility is not just a peripheral one, but that it receives more attention in Czech society.
The Czech Republic needs to address the issue of barrier-free accessibility in greater depth and detail and find appropriate solutions, taking into account the need to harmonise Czech legislation with that of the European Union. Equal access and choice - these are important factors and principles that must and will be respected.
When dealing with accessibility and accessibility, it is important to think about so-called continuity. A barrier-free neighbourhood cannot be understood as an isolated part of one house or pavement. It is necessary to perceive and get to know the surrounding environment in a wider context. A person with special needs already perceives them as such. He or she relies on not encountering an unforeseen and insurmountable barrier a few metres away.

If one finds oneself in a foreign environment as a visitor or tourist - navigation, orientation and a navigation system are essential and indispensable aids. At that point, the environment becomes more accessible even for people with different language skills.

The question is whether we are well prepared for 2024-2025. Judge for yourself.

It is evident and we are very glad that the issue of barrier-free accessibility is not indifferent to the regions and local governments. We are pleased that these beneficial events are taking place.
Once again, we would like to thank the Ústí nad Labem Region and the regional NRZP for the invitation. We will be happy to see them at our events.
